Baby Novum's website is written and maintained by the Baby Novum Editorial team — the same people who build the Baby Novum pregnancy app. We are not a hospital, a clinic, or a licensed medical practice, and no page on this site is written or signed off by an individual clinician. We want that stated plainly rather than implied by a stock photo or a fabricated credential.
Every medical page on this site follows the same process:
Where a page states a screening window, a drug safety guideline, or a clinical threshold, we source it from bodies including:
Screening and monitoring schedules vary somewhat by country. Where they do, we state the international range and note that exact timing depends on local protocol — a page written for a single country's schedule would mislead everyone reading from anywhere else.
Pages on this site carry a "Medically reviewed by Baby Novum Editorial" byline and a review date. That means the content was checked against the sources listed above by our editorial team — it does not mean a named, licensed clinician has signed off on it personally. We think that distinction is worth being upfront about on a site that deals with pregnancy health, rather than letting a generic byline imply more than it delivers.
If you find something on this site that looks outdated, unsourced, or wrong, we want to know. Email us using the contact address in the footer and we will review it — and correct it if it needs correcting.
Baby Novum is also a privacy-first pregnancy app for iPhone — weekly development updates, symptom and kick-count tracking, a contraction timer, and birth-prep checklists, all stored on your device rather than a cloud server. The app and this site are built by the same team and use the same terminology, but this website's content stands on its own regardless of whether you use the app.
